##Writing Objective The purpose of this assignment was to practice writing introductions for factual articles. This assignment served the following purposes: - To practice writing introductions for informative articles - To practice editing close reading for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors - To recall general knowledge of spelling, grammatical rules, and punctuation marks. - To introduce editors' roles in an article's publication cycle. - To practice with a genre of writing. A major purpose was to make students aware of their role as editors and publishers. This assignment had some strategies used for this purpose: - To become aware of the editors' roles as they brainstormed about creating an article that they could write and publish. This is achieved by becoming aware of who is available to write the article, the length and format requirements, and any other information needed to accomplish this goal. This is achieved by making a list of those who can write the article and those who cannot, including those who cannot because of time constraints or physical infirmity. This is also achieved by making a list of what would be included in the article, what the main topic should be, and to meet the length requirements. This assignment was used to make students aware of themselves as writers. This is achieved by making a list of potential assignments for this assignment in the future, so that the students are cognizant of what would be included in an article. It is also used to create an awareness of their role as editors and publishers by giving them a chance to think about what they could write in order to fulfill their need for completion. This helped them become aware of their role as editors and publishers. This serve the following purposes: - To make students aware of their role as writers by brainstorming about what they would want to write on. - To make students aware of their editor and publisher roles by giving them the opportunity to think about what they could contribute to an article, or what they would need to accomplish this goal.
